What is The Village Early Learning Center?
A Transformative Community Initiative
The Village Early Learning Center is a new initiative by Methodist Village Senior Living designed to serve working families across Fort Smith and the surrounding region.
Housed in a fully renovated facility on the MVSL campus, this $2.2 million project reflects our mission to care for both ends of life—our seniors and our youngest learners.
More than a daycare, this center will be a place where children are nurtured, educated, and loved.
Our Mission and Approch
The Village Early Learning Center will focus on:
-
Developmentally appropriate curriculum
-
Highly qualified staff
-
Safe, enriching learning environments
-
Social and emotional growth
-
Strong family partnerships
-
Value-based education grounded in compassion
As a nonprofit, faith-based organization, Methodist Village Senior Living is uniquely positioned to address the growing childcare shortage impacting workforce participation—especially among healthcare workers, educators, and military families.

A Campus Built for Connection
Strengthening Community Through Intergenerational Care
Located on the 37-acre Methodist Village campus, the Early Learning Center reflects our broader commitment to intergenerational connection and community wellness.
Future programming will explore opportunities for meaningful interaction between residents and children—fostering relationships that enrich both generations.
Additionally, MVSL has received a $196,000 ARDOT grant to construct a sidewalk connecting our campus to Carol Ann Cross Park. This project enhances walkability, promotes healthy living, and strengthens connections between residents, families, children, and the surrounding community.
